Charlie’s Destination Walks

Writer: Del Mar Dog LifeDel Mar Dog Life

We have been walking Charlie and his family we for over a year but switched to solo walks in the last few months in an effort to give more enriching experience on walks.

Charlie is a very endearing dog that loves to show off his new toys when you meet. He is kind of reactive to passing dogs and bikes or skateboards but not as much as chasing rabbits. Charlie will lunge and bark at other dogs when walking with his pack but is much easier to keep relaxed when we are alone. Instead of territorial barking, Charlie will check in with me looking for more rewards and let the other dog pass along.

The parks around Pacific Highlands Ranch are a great location for walking dogs from the Pittie Party either in a pack or on a solo Sniffari. During our walk we can safely pass many other dogs or kids on skateboards and I can let Charlie explore around the shopping center. These weekly walks provide a fun experience where Charlie can make his own decisions to remain calm in an active environment.

Contact us if you think destination walks, adventure hikes, canine cafe visits or structured games would be helpful for your dog. While our overnight house sitting is full there is still some availability for pet sitting visits to your home over the holidays. We are also available for group walks, drop in visits, dog walking and pet sitting in Del Mar, Solana Beach, Rancho Santa Fe and Carmel Valley.
